I have three goals that I would like to accomplish during this semester. I want to get exempt from all of my exams. I will accomplish this by studying more and understanding the material rather than just memorizing it. I also need to stop procrastinating until the last minute. I will accomplish this by using my time more wisely and committing to doing work more proficiently. The last goal I want to accomplish is having a better work ethic and to want to work for the things that I need. I will accomplish this by working harder for school and then my chores.

The Synoptic Gospels
There are a multitude of differences and similarities
between the Synoptic Gospels. Matthew Mark and Luke were all written around AD 50’s
and 60’s. All 3 of the Synoptic Gospels emphasize Jesus’ ministry and his life.
Another similarity between Matthew, Mark and Luke is that they all emphasize
Jesus as the Messiah and our Lord and Savior. The Kingdom of God is mentioned
throughout all 3 Gospels and is repeated several times as the common theme. The
differences between the 3 gospels are that they were written each by a
different person. Matthew is writing to the Jews, Mark is writing to the Romans
and Luke is writing to the Greeks. In Matthew, the main theme was to prove that
Jesus was the messiah. In Mark, the content is similar to Matthew, but it is
fast paced. Luke is more carefully proportioned and focuses from a more
historical perspective. Luke also does not contain a genealogy of the Messiah.
The Synoptic Gospels were specifically grouped together because of the
impounding notion that Jesus himself was the Messiah and that the Kingdom of
God and Heaven is rapidly approaching.

Once upon
a time, there once was a creator. His name was God. He saw an empty and formless
planet and he gave the planet light. He spoke and light entered the Earth.
Then, there was darkness and light-a night and day. After God had placed light
on the earth, he added the expanse between the sky and the sea. Then plants and
animals were added. There was a sun, moon and stars that expanded across the
sky. God had spoken and a world of His own had formed. After the world was
nearly done, man entered the planet. God brought man up from the ground and a
man was made. Then, a woman was formed from the body of the man and a woman was
made. These creatures were made in the image of God and they were to live for
his purpose. God saw all that He made and it was good.

God’s Story and My Life
The story of God and the Bible should always impact our
decisions in life because we are the story; God is the storyteller. God always
knows what decisions we will make, even if they aren’t smart. The story of
scripture should always have an impact on our character and our integrity
because we were made in God’s image and we should strive to be like him. Also,
Jesus, the Savior of us all, should have an impact on how we choose to live.
Live for Jesus and the fact that He died on a cross to save you from your sins.
And yet, we take it for granted daily. Lastly, I would like to conclude in
saying that even though God isn’t there to personally guide us in our daily
lives, His word is and it can help us make decisions and live as though today
were our very last day.

The Good Samaritan
The Good Samaritan
This new testament parable is one that most take for granted. The Good Samaritan is a parable that Jesus used to teach his disciples a lesson when they were in doubt. This parable inquires that we are to be kind to others and love one another as we love ourselves. Luke 10:27 states, “He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”The Good Samaritan parable also explains that there will always be people in this world that will not stop to help you when you clearly need it. I think Jesus used this passage to explain to his followers that even though someone you despise has fallen, your ONLY option is to help them get back up. The neighbor to whom Jesus implies, is the one to whom we must love even more than ourselves. It is not the act of doing, but the act of loving that is prominently shown throughout this particular passage. Jesus uses His many parables to teach the disciples that forgiveness is the most powerful form of love that truly shows in your actions.
